How to choose a cybersecurity company
Whoever you hire, ask these questions before you sign:
- Who responds at 2 AM? Look for human analysts watching alerts 24/7 and authorized to isolate a device, not only an automated email.
- Who owns the program? A named vCISO should own your roadmap, policies, vendor risk and board reporting, and should still be there next year.
- Have they taken companies through your framework? Ask for specifics on CMMC, SOC 2, HIPAA or PCI DSS, and how they work with your assessor or CPA firm.
- Can they show credentials? For defense work, ask whether they are a Cyber AB Registered Provider Organization (RPO).
- Are they honest about independence? The firm that prepares you cannot also certify you; a C3PAO or CPA firm must do that.
- Will you have a tested incident response plan? Insurers now ask for one, along with MFA, EDR and immutable backups, at renewal.

Questions Los Angeles businesses ask
Do you provide 24/7 cybersecurity monitoring for Los Angeles businesses?
Yes. Our managed detection and response service watches endpoints, identities and email around the clock, and human analysts act on real threats, for example by isolating a compromised laptop or disabling a hijacked account, then call your team.
How much do managed cybersecurity services cost in Los Angeles?
Pricing is a fixed monthly fee based on users, devices and the services included. Compliance programs such as CMMC or SOC 2 are scoped separately or added to managed IT. We give a written quote after a free scoping call.
Can you help us pass a CMMC, SOC 2 or HIPAA audit?
Yes. CorporateTech is a Cyber AB Registered Provider Organization. We run the gap assessment, write the policies, implement the controls and manage evidence, then work alongside your C3PAO or CPA firm. We do not certify you ourselves; independence rules require a separate assessor.
Do you only do security, or full IT too?
Both. Many Los Angeles clients use us as their complete outsourced IT department, with security built in; others keep their internal IT team and use us for security, vCISO and compliance only.
We think we have been breached. What should we do?
Call us at (714) 441-2900. Do not wipe or reboot affected systems first: that destroys evidence. Disconnect them from the network, change the passwords of affected accounts from a clean device, and notify your cyber-insurance carrier, which may require you to use its approved responders.
